Hi, friends. I've done a couple of hackintoshes, both with tonymac and the straight vanilla, using clover as a bootloader. I've done a intel 870 with a gigabyte board and a 3770K with a gigabyte board. I'm currently stuck on high sierra because I'm using a gtx 970TI.
I'll be honest, the 3770k is a beast for its age, and the 970ti is quite capable. But I'm stuck working from home and I was thinking of doing a new build, using a 5700x video card, so I could enter modern OS. If I'm going to do that I figured I'd just start from scratch.
I'd like to future proof this a bit, so I was looking at cpu choices. The Ryzen 3700x looks nice, but is there really much performance difference between it and the 9600K which seems to be a bit cheaper. I love the threadripper architecture but that might be a bit more than I'd like to spend.
The computer will need to dual boot with windows, run standard microsoft and adobe apps, and games at 1440 at a minimum with some consideration of 4K?
Also, I've heard that adobe products have issues w/ the Ryzen chips, does that make my decision for me?
Finally, should I bite the bullet and go to opencore for this one? I hate the idea of a beta bootloader.
Also, we can only pick one flair? what if it crosses topics?
Thanks,
Mike
