What are the pros/cons for Vanilla Clover/OpenCore Hackintosh VS a KVM (Virtual Machine) with Passthrough GPU (VFIO)? Anyone with experience trying both approaches?
KVM Pros:
- Easier, as it seems to be less hack/kexts etc. with virtualized hardware.
- Safer because of the point above?
- Can easily switch between linux, windows (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EozeSDeV3Vo)
KVM Cons
- Slight performance-drops (estimated to be 1-2% on KVM)
- Some people struggle to get passthrough GPU working.
- Smaller community than standard hackintosh (like r/hackintosh)
