[Question][AMD/NVIDIA] How to get GTX 1060 working on High Sierra (17G11023)?

I have successfully got High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G11023) installed and running on the following hardware:

  • AMD FX-8350
  • Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB

I know this may be a very "cursed" setup, but macOS itself runs just fine. However, the NVIDIA Web Driver makes my Hackintosh not boot beyond a certain, famous error message:

IOConsoleUsers: time(0) 0->0, lin 0, llk 1, IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

The installed driver version is 387.10.10.10.40.134. Once I uncheck "Use NVIDIA WEB Drivers" in Clover, the machine boots just fine, with the graphics performance being very poor.

I have been out of the Hackintosh scene for quite a few years now, so I have no idea what additional information is required/expected. If you need more info, just let me know.
