Shared hard drive with windows

Hi all, just purchased a few 6tb hard drives. I want to share these between Mac and Windows ssd's.

From reading through posts in this sub I've understood two things,

1. Don't use exfat - risk of data loss due to lack of journaling

2. Format drives in HFS+ and use Macdrive,Paragon HFS+, explorer++ on windows to access the drives

3. Format drives in NTFS and use Paragon NTFS or mounty.app on mac

Any other ideas ? Is option 2 the currently recommended option ? Is there something perhaps I haven't considered
