No OS

Looking on eBay for used computers to build my first Hackintosh using a 2014 MacBook Pro does anybody know if a no OS computer will work

I had to edit this because I realized it was confusing so what I meant was I was downloading the os from a 2014 MacBook Pro because every tutorial said I needed a real Mac and I have an old one that I used ti use and I was wondering if I could boot from a no OS computer
