I was given a mid 2009 MacBook Pro (P8700) from a friend who gave up on reinstalling the OS because of the common “temporary unavailable” error. I was able to install OS 10.10.5 on it but found out the software I planned on using requires at least 10.11. Learned that some MacBooks are able to be upgraded past their normal OS. Found a guide which uses the dosdude High Sierra Patcher Tool and followed the instructions to make a bootable drive. I’m able to select the drive which has the installer on it but as soon as it reaches this point (imgur) it doesn’t progress. I’ve left it for almost 8 hours with no change. Hoping someone can help me figure out what I’m doing wrong. Thanks
