Finally, a mainstream Video tutorial using OpenCore and the Vanilla guide.

Finally, a mainstream Video tutorial using OpenCore and the Vanilla guide.

If you have never used OpenCore before, this 14 minute video from Snazzy might give you the courage to really try it, especially if you are planning to hackintosh an AMD system. I enjoyed it and will be recommending it to other first time OpenCore users.

Make a Mac Pro (hackintosh) for Under $2,000! (cued to start after the Corsair intro)

AMD OpenCore Hackintosh using Vanilla Guide by Snazzy

Disclaimer: I'm not connected to Snazzy Labs or to Corsair; just sharing this to help more people get into OpenCore. Corsair is actually not a sponsor of this video according to the creator even though the Vengeance 6182 looks like a sponsored link. I've only included the most relevant links from the original video, check there for more links. - Just after posting I noticed its kind of a dupe. I hope you guys don't mind, as the focus of my post is is on a mainstream tech YouTuber actually promoting OpenCore and showing a decent Vanilla guide in action, not so much on the fact, that it performs similar to a MacPro, which the other discussion post is about.

From the Video description

Snazzy Labs shows the latest all-AMD Corsair Vengeance 6182 Gaming PC running macOS Catalina using OpenCore. You can make your own too!

CORRECTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

  1. I included the DSDT.aml file by accident—this is not needed
  2. I included IntelMausiEthernet.kext. AMD systems only work with 211-AT - http://snazzy.fm/lth41
  3. When editing your config.plist file, use the search function in ProperTree to ensure the following: (a) EC SSDT is set as "true," (b) Navi cards require the following boot arguments: [debug=0x100 agdpmod=pikera] (do not include brackets), (c) if you have a black screen after volume selection, make sure ProvideConsoleGOP is set to true.
  4. Just about every other problem conceivable can be found here. Read/check it thoroughly. http://snazzy.fm/d9RC8

HELP

Hackintosh machines are often considered unreliable by those who don't know what they're doing or haven't done due diligence on building their own configuration file. In this video tutorial, Snazzy Labs will show you how to make your own AMD hackintosh using the OpenCore bootloader.
