I have Success fully build my Hackintosh with the following components:
- Gigabyte Designare Z390
- Intel I9900K
- 2 x 16GB G-Skill RAM
- Asus Vega 64 OpenCore
- Bluetooth/WiFi Card from a MacBook Air
- Clover Bootloader
- 500GB NVMe (Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina)
- 1TB Samsung SSD (User folder)
Initially I stumbled over the guides on Tonymacx86 and followed the pretty good guide for the Designare.
Later I discovered this subreddit and reinstalled everything with the vanilla guide and for the first time understood what I was actually doing. Thanks!
Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave was the latest OS Version to the time of building my Hackintosh. Now I have updated Clover and am running the latest Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina Update without problems.
I tried to install windows on the same NVMe Drive as Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina and failed (due to Mac encryption I think). I have also tried to partition the Samsung SSD and install windows there and also failed.
Then I read that I have to install windows prior to MacOS.
So when I have to reinstall everything, I have two questions:
- must I Install Windows on a separate Drive exclusively for Windows and after that Linux and Mac OS for a triple boot? So one separate drive for each OS?
- Should I try OpenCore instead of Clover?
