I am looking to build a Hackintosh as a replacement for my Mac mini 2014.
This is media center file server running Plex, which is connected over wired 1Gb Ethernet to Apple TV 4K which is handling all the actual processing. Thus I am looking to use integrated graphics simply to very occasionally display Mac screen on the TV over HDMI - most of the time it would just be accessed through VNC. Hence no need dedicated graphics card.
At this stage, I’m just spec-ing hardware list. I am looking to try OpenCore vanilla build, with as much out of the box hardware as possible.
Please do let me know if I made any glaring mistake in this list
- Fractal Design Node 304 case
- Corsair SF750 SFX PSU
- Gigabyte Intel Z390 I AORUS Motherboard (mini ITX)
- Intel Core i3-9320 CPU
- Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge PCIe card (for Thunderbolt 3)
- Fenvi FV-T919 PCIe card (for WiFi / Bluetooth)
- ?? 16GB memory
- ?? 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD
- 2✕ 8TB Seagate 3.5in HDDs
Recommendations / changes welcome. Again - out of the box compatibility is more important than sheer performance.
