I managed to install MacOS Mojave on my Legion Y740 , just wanted to make this post to let other people know that it is indeed possible to get pretty much everything working on this laptop.
First off , my build :
CPU : Intel I5 8300H
GPU : Nvidia RTX 2060 (can only use iGPU because there are no web drivers yet , needs patching)
Mainboard : Lenovo something something (will edit once I can identify the mainboard)
RAM : Dual channel DDR4 16GB
Networking : Realtek PCIe GBE (didn't get it to work yet , using Android USB-Tethering)
Soundcard : Realtek ALC298 (inject 3 via Clover Configurator)
Working :
-AppStore
-Audio
-Accessories / Periphals
-Webcam
-iGPU
-FN - Keys
-Internet (USB-tethering with great speed)
-External display
-booting from external hard-drive
etc...
Not working so far :
- dedicated GPU ( no web drivers for RTX graphic cards , will probably take several more months 'til Apple approves the drivers , maybe we'll never see drivers)
- WiFi : Didn't even try to get it working , might need a different network-card , I'm using Android USB-Tethering
- Trackpad : Easy to get the trackpad working , not bothered because I'm using a mouse all the time (Voodoo I2C is your friend , buttons need extra patching)
- Bluetooth : Need a different bluetooth module
- Numpad (because the Y740 doesn't have one lol)
I can post a full installation guide if anyone is interested ; you do NOT need access to a Mac or a VM running Mac , it just makes some steps easier.
