Upgrading the memory of my laptop, but don't want to recompile DSDT/SSDTs.

Hey guys. My laptop currently has 4GB of 2133MHz DDR4 memory and I want to add an additional 4GB to a currently empty DIMM slot. I have read that changing system hardware configuration requires a DSDT recompilation, and, to be honest, I'd like to avoid that. Any way I don't have to jump through that hoop when I do add the extra RAM to my system? Also any pointers/tips I should know about when purchasing the memory? I don't want to add the purchased memory and then find that I can't even boot into my system. Thanks :)
