Hey everyone. I'm hoping this doesn't get flagged as low effort. Fingers crossed. I'm building a Hackintosh and all my gear is on the compatible "OOTD" list except for my video card (RTX 2070). My little bro has a Powercolor Radeon VII and he's agreed to exchange it with me for a Radeon 5700 XT so I can build + use my Hackintosh now until the 5700 becomes compatible with MacOS. That's the plan, anyways.
Now, I poured through the vanilla guide and some other really great materials that I found here and on other sites and the consensus seems to be that for most AMD GPU's Powercolor is a brand to stay away from. However, I haven't found that info on the Radeon VII. The only real clue I've found as to Radeon VII support for the Powercolor variant was a video in which someone installed it into a Mac Pro 5,1. It worked. Normally, I'd just buy the right brand but my brother already has the Powercolor version. I was just wondering if anyone here had installed this GPU and had luck with it.
My intention for now is just to use my Hackintosh to learn FCPX for a job but if it proves stable enough, I might migrate my Premiere projects over and see how that works. Been an Apple guy for years but I migrated to PC because $$$$ but all my clients are on Mac and when I work at their facilities I work on Mac. Anyways, thank you guys for all the great info and hopefully one of you had dealt with the Powercolor Radeon VII in your travels and can help me!
EDIT: This is one of the guides I referred to. Very helpful. If you notice on the 'Do Not Buy' list, it mentions Powercolor by name but not the Radeon VII (just the other models):
