Hackintosh died, trying to bring it back to life

Build specs:

  • Gigabyte GA H170N WiFi Mini-ITX
  • i7 6700k
  • no dGPU
  • macOS 10.12.6 Sierra

Some background:

The computer is just hosting my Plex Server and a Time Machine back up drive. It's not even connected to a monitor. I built this thing like 2 years ago and haven't messed with Hackintosh stuff since as it's run mostly without issue so I don't really know what's what anymore lol

I think I have an idea of what's broken and what's needed, but I'm having trouble getting those going.

What happened:

Woke up this morning with my Plex not working and I can't remote into the computer. I plug it into a monitor and get a 🚫 symbol. Okay, maybe something auto-updated and broke it. I've had that happen before and a quick restore from a TM or CCC back up will fix it.

Did a TM restore and the computer gets stuck on the Apple. Did a CCC restore and the UEFI partition is gone so the (except it boots fine on my MacBook so yeah idk what's up with that).

I still have a Sierra install.app and the version of Unibeast (7.1.1) + Multibeast that I orginally installed it with so I create the USB stick.

When I try to launch the installer I get CPU panics, even with trying safe mode.

So yeah that's where I'm stuck. I haven't changed any BIOS settings, hardware changes, stuck the USB in every port, nothing I think could break it.

I think I have to get a good UEFI on this boot drive and Unibeast is supposed to do that. Fortunately I have triple back ups of everything so all the data is safe (and if needed I could get a real Mac and boot off of that).

So is there something dumb I'm overlooking? A dumb boot flag? Possibly hardware issue?
