Looking to upgrade...

Hi everyone,

I am currently using an i5 mac mini for music production. It handles it surprisingly well although it's starting to show its age now (late 2012 model).

I would love to buy a new mac but damn, the prices are crazy compared to building a PC. So I'm considering trying out a hackintosh.

1) Does anyone here use one for music production? How stable is it?

2) Can I migrate my current set up across to the hackintosh or do I have to start from scratch?

3) Are certain hardware vendors more likely to be compatible than others?

I'd really appreciate some insight,
