Getting so discouraged about doing a mid range audio production build. I can get a new 2018 i3 8100+128gb+8gb Mac mini for 669 USD and be good to go, or spend 500-600 USD on an i5 9600k+500gb+16gb Hackintosh.

I need a mid tier machine dedicated to audio production. So no external gpu is required for my needs. Though I may expand if I start messing around.

Im looking for a small machine. The mac mini is really too small. Id like something with more balls and a little bit more room to breathe.

Id like to use newer hardware. 9th generation intel is what I would prefer.

I have been doing research on the parts and keep coming around to either, Im going to need to find a way to update the bios on an older board, or losing some functionality of the board and what I need to do.

I really dont have the time to be having to troubleshoot and reinstall Mojave hackintosh everytime a problem arises. I also would like to not have a second drive just to keep a backup for whenever a reinstall is needed.

For my Hack I was going with a 9600k cpu and whatever motherboard will work. I need most USB ports and USB 3.0. I need the machine to be wireless as well.

I dont plan to overclock the cpu, but the 9600k is only 40 bucks more than the 9400, and I could really use the 2 extra cores/threads, even if not overclocking. I can save another 30 bucks if I bundle a motherboard.

Requirements for my build. Ive been picking and researching parts but keep coming back to the begining it seems.

9th gen Intel cpu

Micro ATX or Mini ITX

Newer parts

Fully functional mobo

Wireless/bluetooth

Fully functional Mojave

Painless install/ no post problems or reinstalls

So, I can put together my planned build for 5-600 USD that is spec'd better but go through the pain of Hackintoshing the machine, or buy the 2018 i3 Mac mini for 670 USD.

What does this community think of my rant?

Im sorry for it, but Ive been going nuts over the last few weeks about buying and putting this thing together.

Thank you.
