Easy and 100% functional new hardware?

I see so many of these hacks that either take too much fiddling and/or don't have 100% functional systems.

I'm interested in knowing if there are any desktops or laptops, with current specs (new stuff) where everything works all the time. Systems that you can just buy and not have to add hardware or expect numerous bugs.
