Convert from Unibeast to Vanilla require reinstall of macOS?

I've done Vanilla Hackintoshes in the past, but against my better judgement, I thought I'd take a short cut.

I bought an early-2019 Razer Blade Advanced 15 (i7-8750H with RTX 2080). Found this incredibly informative Hackintosh guide for it here:

My build deviates in that I have a 2TB EVO 970, 64GB RAM, and BCM94352Z. When I got to the part where the guide uses Unibeast I was going to skip it and go Vanilla, but laziness got the better of me an said, "Well, this person has it working apparently, so why deviate from that?"

The install went smooth and it boots fine from the SSD using whatever Unibeast installs after copying /EFI over from the USB. Then I get to this part, to replace the EFI with the contents of the repo, removing or adding various SSDTs and Kexts if my system is the slightest bit different, and it fails:

Basically hangs at boot and I've tried several different things with the Kexts. Not even messing with the ACPI until Kexts had it booting properly although I did F2+F4 to dump the DSDT and SSDT of my laptop.

At any rate, I'm thinking I'm going to start over and do it "right" this time (i.e., Vanilla). Couple questions related to this:

  • Does this require a reinstall of macOS?
  • Or does this just require removing /EFI/BOOT and /EFI/CLOVER from the boot device /EFI and Vanilla process from there?
  • Is there anything in /L/E or /S/L/E that Unibeast installed that needs to be removed?
  • I don't need to mess with the USB /EFI at this point, correct? Just the /EFI on the boot drive?
  • Anything else that needs to be considered?
