Coming back to Hackintosh

Hi there everyone. Many moons ago I delved into hackintoshing and very much enjoyed it. I remember setting up my work computer, a Dell Optiplex, doing some Acer Netbooks for friends and if I remember correctly my Dell D600 Notebook from work.

That all seems like so long ago and I have been retired from work for quite some time.

Now it looks like I may have the "opportunity" to come out of early retirement and have been looking to get back into hackintoshing but for slightly different reasons.

In my spare time I would like to explore the possibility of software development. I haven't decided if I should focus on Windows or iOS at this point, or even if Software Development is something that would hold my interest. That is why I would like to do this on a budget. IF it is something that really interests me and isn't some sort of flight of fancy I could look into getting a dedicated machine, but at this time would like to scratch an itch, so to speak!

I have always liked Thinkpads and have been doing some research. The T430 and the X230 are current candidates but I really am open to any other ideas. I could probably stretch to a budget of €500. I have thought of purchasing parts to build a PC but realistically space is a concern and a laptop would suit my current situation.

Is there anyone in the community that could help guide me in the right direction?

Forever grateful!
