[Question] VM with gpu passthrough or dedicated machine

I was thinking of getting into making a hackintosh build. I mainly just want it to keep my Apple knowledge fresh. I also want to try some mac os only games. I will be planning on using the latest Mac os version that is currently out.

I have two options.

Option 1:

Buy a RX 580 gigabyte to add to my current system for either dual booting or a gpu passthrough VM. My current system is bellow. This is my favorite option as it will require lower amount of money. I am not sure what performance in a VM will be like.

Option 2:

include a RX 580 8GB in a $500 hackintosh stand alone build. I have not researched any possible parts yet.
