Can I use Snow Leopard to build my Hackintosh?

Hello again folks,

This is kind of an update to my post a few days back in which I presented a build I put together in 2016. Here are the specs again:

• Corsair Carbide Series Black 300R Mid-Tower Computer Case

• Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) CL15 DR x8 Non-ECC UDIMM 288-Pin Memory CT2K8G4DFD8213/CT2C8G4DFD8213

• Gigabyte LGA 1151 Z170 HDMI 2-Way CrossFire ATX DDR4 Motherboards GA-Z170-HD3

• Intel BX80662I36100 Core i3-6100 3M Cache, 3.70 GHz Processor

• Corsair CS Series, CS550M, 550 Watt (550W), Semi Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified

• TP-LINK N900 2.4GHz or 5GHz up to 450Mbps Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter for Windows (TL-WDN4800)

• Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 32 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Bare Drive – ST31000524AS

• Nvidia GeForce GT 740 graphic card

I have a 2011 15” MacBook Pro that you may know came with a GPU glitch that Apple did cover with an extended repair program that unfortunately expired a few years back. I did take advantage of this program twice, but this particular glitch is terminal and my MBP died a few months ago.

I still have the DVDs that came with it (Snow Leopard) and I’m wondering if I could somehow use them to get my build going. Is this even possible? Another option is to try to get the last upgrade OS from the MBP hard disk, which I took out a few weeks ago.

I’m currently running Ubuntu in this build I’m trying to hack and it is able to read the MBP hard disk, but unfortunately is encrypted and I suppose that even though I have the password I might need something else to be able to read my data.

I’m sorry if I’m not making a lot of sense; I’m willing to answer any question you may have seeking clarification.
