High Sierra with GTX1070 web drivers, have micro stutters and some general lag. Is this normal?

• Currently on 10.13.6 (17G65)
• Vanilla-ish install, used Hackintosher's guide and the vanilla guide.
  
• i5 4690/Gigabyte Motherboard/120 SSD
• GTX1070 (running 387.10.10.10.40.105) pushing 5120*1440

So, the install was mostly a success, everything works fine but I have some stuttering and lag in the UI, for example watching a youtube video at 1080p has some slight stuttering. The system is definitely usable, I was just wondering if this is as good as it get for me or if i've messed up somewhere?
