Hi! I bought a Mac Pro 2008 for 76 bucks without GPU (images at https://imgur.com/a/wA7yggC). Needs a little of love and cleaning I think :P According to my seller it's going to reach my house with my Mac in 5 days, and the machine have this components: - 2x Xeon E5462 2.8GHz - 500GB HDD (probaly I will upgrade to 256GB Intel 545S + 1TB WD Blue) - 4x2GB FB-DIMM 800MHz - Mac OSX "El capitan" - Original PSU https://i.redd.it/yggmf60gx6131.jpg I talk with a friend of mine and he says the Mac can be upgraded (with a hack) to High Sierra or Mojave. My friend tell me that Mac doesn't support GTX 1000 Series, RX 400 and newer... it's a hardware limitation or depends of Mac OSX version? The questions are: 1) For this machine what is best: Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave? 2) I can upgrade to GTX 1000 or RX 5xx? Or i'm stuck with GTX 500/600/700/900 Series and HD 7000 / Rx 200 / Rx 300 series? I know the BIOS problem cause no video from start to login screen (no problem for me) [link] [comments] |
