Success? AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Vega 8

https://i.redd.it/f3bqzt84pk031.png

Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Vega 8 Integrated Graphics - Graphics work fine with native Apple stuff, but can't handle any Electron apps such as Slack and VSCode. Chrome and Spotify also look weird. I've got a Gigabyte RX 560 4gb on the way.

Motherboard: Gigabyte A320M-S2H

RAM: ADATA 8gb DDR4 2400mhz x1, Corsair Vengeance LPX 8gb DDR4 2400mhz x1

SSD: Kingston A400 120gb x1

Wi-Fi: D-Link DWA-131 E1 - got it working with this https://github.com/chris1111/Wireless-USB-Adapter-Clover

Bluetooth: ASUS USB-BT400 USB Adapter - worked right out of the box

Display: Acer LED 27" Full HD VA270H

Kexts (I might have some useless ones in there):

- AirportBrcmFixup.kext

- AppleALC.kext

- FakeSMC.kext

- Lilu.kext

- NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

- RealtekRTL8111.kext

- USBInjectAll.kext

- WhateverGreen.kext

- XHCI-unsupported.kext

I followed this guide: https://vanilla.amd-osx.com

What works:

- iMessage

What doesn't work (yet!):

- Booting without a flash drive: I'm getting a black screen, I assume it's because of the graphics. I'll update this once my RX 560 arrives.

- Integrated sound - I'm working around this with Bluetooth (although it sound horrible), I'll be able to fix this once I get it booting from the SSD.

Not sure why it's displaying the processor as a Xeon though!

    1. Here are the steps on how to create an EFI file for an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Vega 8 and Monterey OS:

      1. **Download the Monterey installer.** You can download the Monterey installer from the Apple website.
      2. **Create a bootable USB drive.** You can use a program like Etcher to create a bootable USB drive with the Monterey installer.
      3. **Download the Clover bootloader.** You can download the Clover bootloader from the Clover website.
      4. **Download the necessary kexts.** You can find a list of necessary kexts on the Dortania OpenCore Guide website.
      5. **Create an EFI folder.** Create an EFI folder on the root of your USB drive.
      6. **Copy the Clover bootloader to the EFI folder.** Copy the Clover bootloader to the EFI folder.
      7. **Copy the necessary kexts to the EFI folder.** Copy the necessary kexts to the EFI folder.
      8. **Edit the Clover config.plist file.** Open the Clover config.plist file in a text editor and make the following changes:
      * Set the SMBIOS value to iMac19,1.
      * Set the PlatformInfo value to 0x04000080.
      * Set the GraphicsDevice value to IGPU.
      9. **Save the Clover config.plist file.** Save the Clover config.plist file.
      10. **Boot from the USB drive.** When you turn on your computer, press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS. This key is usually F2, F10, or Delete.
      11. **Change the boot order.** In the BIOS, change the boot order so that the USB drive is the first device to boot from.
      12. **Boot from the USB drive.** Save your changes and exit the BIOS. Your computer will now boot from the USB drive.
      13. **Follow the installer instructions.** The installer will guide you through the installation process.
      14. **Enter your Apple ID and password.** You will need to enter your Apple ID and password to activate Monterey.
      15. **Install updates.** Once Monterey is installed, you should install any available updates.

Here are some additional tips for installing Monterey on an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Vega 8:

      * Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Monterey. You can find the minimum system requirements on the Apple website.
      * You may need to install additional drivers after Monterey is installed. You can find these drivers on the manufacturer's website.
      * Monterey may not support all features on your computer. For example, you may not be able to use the Touch Bar or the Touch ID sensor.

If you have any problems installing Monterey, you can contact Apple support for help.
