Hardware:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K
- GPU: Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX580
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Designare F5 (wifi/bluetooth card has been removed)
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB
- SD Card Reader Hub: Atech Flash Technology PRO-88 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Professional 5.25" Media Card Reader / Hub
What guide/tool I used:
- Vanilla installation (Clover-only)
I recently built my first Hackintosh and the only real problem with it is that my SD card hub is preventing it from sleeping/shutting down. I tried every single Darkwake setting, and they all seem to make no difference. Sleep/shutdown always breaks when the hub is plugged in, and sleep/shutdown always works when the hub is unplugged.
Behavior when hub is plugged in:
Auto-sleep does an endless loop. As soon as the fans and lights turn off, the computer immediately wakes back up. It will keep doing this over and over again.
Apple Menu>Sleep works fine the first time. But if I try to put it to sleep again, it does the same endless loop that auto-sleep does.
If I try to shut the computer down, it freezes and won't shut down. Restart seems to work okay.
All of this negative behavior is resolved by unplugging the SD card reader hub from the back of the computer. However I would like to be able to use it without having to plug and unplug it all the time!
The hub plugs in using a USB cable that is routed though the inside of the case, out the back of the case, and plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the back of the motherboard. It's kind of a strange connectivity :-/
Just to make sure it wasn't a USB issue, I tested Sleep with a regular USB flash drive plugged in. No problems. So it's not any USB device, it's just that hub in particular. All USB ports have been mapped BTW.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can keep the hub plugged in without affecting sleep and shut-down?
Here's a link to my config, as well as Clover Folder, Kexts and Drivers. Thanks!
