I have a late 2013 iMac and planning to build a Hackintosh to use the iMac as display.

Anybody made this to work?
Earlier, I was thinking to go with Asus Z390 I mobo as it has USB type C. Anybody has a suggestion which mobo should I chose to be able to use the Target display mode?
Should I go with a mobo with thunderbolt?
