Hello buddies!
I'm new to all the hackintosh stuff and to reddit as well, but I'm here for your advice...
First of all, my specs are following:
CPU Intel Pentium g4560
MB AsRock B250m PRO4
RAM 1 x 4GB 2400 Ghz Corsair Vengeance LPX [CMK4GX4M1A2400C16]
GPU Gigabyte GTX670 2GB [GV-N670WF2-2G]
HDD Seagate 500 GB [away from home, can't really find product number of this one]
macOS Sierra 10.12.6
SmBIOS iMac 17'1
[away from home, gonna upload plist and list of kexts later]
The problem is that I have constant lags and freezes. It takes ~8-13 secs to launch Opera and get it responsive, ~5-8 secs to open any photo of any size via standart app, Safari is not an exception. If, for example, I browse web in any of listed browsers and launch any other app, macOS may freeze for ~1-3 secs that feels...not satisfactory. At least, that's not what I expected from Sierra. I had an experience of using High Sierra before, it was laggy as well. That time I thought it was High Sierra itself being laggy and unresponsive. So then I made a clean install of Sierra and to my disappointment, it's all the same. The idea now is that using my hack as a productive machine is not sustainable at all. My head gonna blow up, I do want to make it work right. Over-all feelings are like I'm on Pentium Dual-Core with 1 GB DDR2-800 now, seriously! What's more, I can play The Sims 2 and Diablo 3 without any problems with good FPS, though I'll think twice before Alt+Tab them :D
I do admit that an HDD (not an SSD) and 4GB RAM may be the real cause of all my problems! And I plan to buy extra parts as soon as I get spare money... but guys, I experience not those lags that we usually have when we're low on RAM or HDD's capabilities. Furthermore some iMacs are even worse than my spec.
Maybe some of you have dealt with the same problem? Or you know the way to make it work right? Looking for a piece of advice!
