iMac Pro Killer [Buying Advice]

Dear Community,

I really appreciate your support and I've decided to do a X299 build to compete with a maxed out iMac Pro.

I wanted to make sure that the components I want to buy will work as this is a big investment for me. I do have some questions regarding each component, would be great to get some insight!

- Motherboard: Asus Prime X299-Deluve II:

Is this the best and most compatible X299 motherboard? Does Power Management work good? Any drawbacks?

- CPU: Intel i9-9980XE

Is this the best and most compatible 18 core cpu for this build? Is it reliable to overclock or would you let it stay at clock speeds? Hows the heat? Does power management work and turbo etc?

- RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum (8x, 16GB, DDR4-3000, DIMM 288)

I didn't find 3200mhz only 3000mhz and 2666mhz. I read somewhere that because the CPU is so powerful that the RAM doesn't necessarily need to be more than 2666mhz or that the motherboard can't use more than that. Is that true? Should I go with 3000mhz? Would you overclock it or let it stay at clock speed? Hows the heat? Is this the most compatible RAM?

- Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon VII

I see a lot of people having the Radeon VII 16GB so I decided to take this one. Is this the best and most compatible graphics card? I have heard some people having trouble, has that been fixed? Is it natively supported now? Hows the sleep, power management and fans etc working? I've heard someone say that "Sapphire" is the better brand for low fan noise? Is that true or should I go with another vendor? Stock fans okay?

- Thunderbolt: GC Titan Ridge

As seen below I want to hook everything up with a LG 5K display. I also own a lot of Thunderbolt drives (the orange LaCie ones). Will the Sapphire Radeon VII work with the LG 5K display and if yes, how do I connect them? I read as much as I could but couldn't figure out how that would work. Does hotswapping Thunderbolt work? My lacie drives have the older thunderbolt I think, do they work too hotswapping?

Also I'm planning on using my LaCie 4TB to load projects from. I have 2x of these for my film projects (I mainly will use this for Video Editing, Adobe Suite, Premiere Pro and After Effects) currenly. Would it make sense to use them still or should I upgrade to a usb-c one or would that not work? Is that Thunderbolt too old and would 2 additional SSD's for project files (not NVMe's) be better for me?

- Power: Corsair AX1600i (1600w)

Enough power or too much?

- Case: NZXT H700i

That case looked nice, but is there a better one? I want a Apple looking one, nice and sleek, but I also want it to be very quiet. I've heard the fans inside this case are loud. Should I get this case and get BeQuiet! fans or get another case altogether?

- CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x62

Is this enough to cool the CPU if overlocked?

- Drive 1: Samsung 970 EVO 2TB (OSX)

Thought I'd get a 2TB SSD for OSX and a --

- Drive 2: Samsung 970 EVO 1TB (Windows 10)

1TB SSD for Windows. Would that work with that motherboard?

And should I get 2x additional SSD's (non NVMe's) for project files or also NVMe's or traditional SSD's for operating system and NVMe's for project files? I'm a bit confused there.

- Wifi & Bluetooth: http://www.osxwifi.com/product/pc-hackintosh-apple-broadcom-bcm94360cd-802-11-a-b-g-n-ac-with-bluetooth-4-0 this or this one: https://www.osxwifi.com/product/pc-hackintosh-apple-broadcom-bcm943602cd-802-11-a-b-g-n-ac-bluetooth-4-1-limited-edition/ what's the difference? Should I go for the updated one with bluetooth 4.1? Will my magic mouse and magic keyboard work during bios and boot?

I mainly use WIFI. Would that support 5ghz wifi?

- Monitor: LG 34WK95U-W 5K

These are all my questions, thank you very much. I currently own an iMac 27 5K late 2015 and although it's performed fine, there has come a time where I can't justify rendering something from After Effects for 2hours as time has become money and I need to work quicker.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm looking at 8K$ of an investment and I want to make sure I spend it right!

Thanks again I very much appreciate it!

The plan is to get a maxed out iMac Pro (one that would cost 15k$) without any drawbacks except size. Thank you!!

Best,

John
