With the announcement of zen 2 cpus, ryzen cpus are getting more powerful with lesser cost compared to intel counterparts. We can get an 8c/16t ryzen 3800x for half the cost of i9 9900k.
I do know as of now we can use ryzen processors with macOS with a bit of tweaking, thanks to ryzentosh community, but we can't be certain that all apps will work as properly intended. (maybe i'm wrong)

Final cut pro x uses intel quick sync
Parallels desktop uses intel virtualization
