I've been a Mac user for 20+ years. I recently built my first gaming PC and it was a very positive experience.
I currently do a lot of video editing in Final Cut Pro. (Which might be the only thing preventing me from switching to PC entirely.)
After some quick google searches, it looks like all the components I bought for my PC are likely to work with a hackintosh setup. Although googling for more specifics on my hardware shows a lot of potential time spent making lots of edits to install materials.
My main mac is a 2015 Retina MP Pro --- it gets the job done nicely, although editing video on a laptop is less fun than it would be on a desktop. The processor in my PC is much faster than the processor in my MacBook, but as far as I can tell Final Cut Pro is maybe unlikely to be any faster/better on the PC, because I have an NVIDIA card instead of an AMD, and FCP is optimized to run on AMD.
Do I have that right?
I guess my point is that I'd probably fart away a day or two or more fighting with the installation to see if it works, and might not get any improvement out of the process.
Do you folks think it's worth my time just to try it out?
