If your mouse flickers on rollover, it's an OS problem.

Specifically, it has to do with use of the dedicated GPU (driver/framebuffers perhaps?).

Examples are a plenty

There is a solution which is present in the first link, but that covers one of the many cursors. I created a simple test page with Dreamweaver targeting all the various cursor states. Every single rollover presented the glitch when using the RX580. Some worse than others. For the purpose of testing I removed it and enabled the IGPU. Surprise! The rollover glitch disappeared.

It could be the driver / framebuffer is reporting an incorrect cursor location when using a DGPU. This is extremely noticeable with full-screen games. In another trial I opened World of Warcraft. The cursor appears OK and on point. Precise. Using recording software (I used multiple) all of them during playback showed the cursor far from the co-ords when I was playing. In game it was at 1,1. Recording showed it at 5,5. Switching to IGPU, again, this was not present. The game-play and recording showed the cursor at the same location.

Unfortunately, unlike the other cursors where you can modify their positions, the default one cannot be modified. It is probably embedded somewhere in the OS. I did find one located in a separate framework when searching the drive for PDF and PNG. But this cursor wasn't correct as it's lower left point was cut.

In short this is Apple's problem. As it's present on Apple's own hardware. This is not limited to hackintosh. Unless the wizards can find a way to patch it, we have to wait on Apple, or we (incl authentic Mac buyers) are out of luck.

(I was forced to pick a flair. So I picked one.)
