Hey, all. I've done a fair bit of research, and I haven't found a solution to this little annoyance. Can any os x hackers point me in the right direction?
Short version: My mac desktop does not have wifi. How can I manually set the system physical location for maps, etc.
Long version:
My research indicates that the location on OS X and iOS are based on detecting WiFi hotspots and checking it against a third party geo-tagged database of wifi locations (www.skyhook.com).
My mac system doesn't have wifi (it's a hackintosh), but it's a desktop that never moves from my office. Is it possible for me to write the location manually or using some third party code so that locationd knows where my system is. Does anybody know where this location information is stored? I haven't found anything on developer.apple.com, or in any of my OS X internals books.
