Fresh Vanilla Mojave on m.2 — can now "hear" the cpu working.

Hey All,

I've just finished a fresh Mojave vanilla install on a Samsung 960 EVO m.2 and for whatever reason I can now hear (what I think is) the CPU when doing...anything. It's audible on everything from each keystroke to loading a webpage (where the activity is super noticeable). It's a little sound, like a short and sharp quiet but still audible cricket chirp deep in the PC.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is it possible that it's a config file adjustment I did? I followed this wonderful guide put together by CorpNewt to get it up and running in no time at all.

I didn't realise there's no nVidia web drivers for Mojave yet to support the hardware acceleration, nor did I think I could be driven out of my mind by such a sound. I'm leaning towards going re-installing High Sierra on my m.2, but I just don't believe it could be a software thing.

Thoughts?
