I'm having a few weird power/USB bugs with my Hackintosh that I think may all have the same root cause, wondering if anyone can diagnose...
For weeks (seemingly after updating from Sierra to High Sierra) it was refusing to shut down (kept rebooting instead) and also every so often I'd hear weird crackles on the audio and all my USB devices would cut out/turn off for a second or so, very sporadically. Sometimes it would do this so much that the system would lock up and reboot. Also a few minutes after plugging in a device like my iPhone to charge/sync, my Bluetooth Magic Mouse would disconnect, and to get it back working again I'd have to reboot.
I have a gut feeling all these power/USB issues might be connected because when I swapped a few devices (like a mains powered USB hub) to a USB 1.0 port instead of a 3.0, shutdown started working as normal again.... But I certainly don't like the possibility that there could be fluctuations in power in my system... could invalid kexts or settings in the config.plist be causing this??
