Clovet Configurator crashing entire system when trying to add entry to kexts to patch

Specs: -i5 3470 -Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 -Powercolor R9 280X -128GB SSD, 2TB HDD

I'm trying to edit the frame buffer for my card as currently only displayport works and I need hdmi and DVI, but whenever I try to add an entry to kexts to patch the entire system freezes irrecoverably. I've tried a fresh file and a fresh copy of configurator but I still get the same. I've tried safe mode too, but it isn't letting me mount EFI in safe mode.
