Would I have any difficulty using an unused CPU + motherboard combo if I knew both the CPU and the motherboard separately worked?

The title's pretty self explanatory. I'm thinking of running an Intel i7 9700k with an ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 gaming itx/ac motherboard. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
