Hey everyone,
So I’ve had my Hackintosh for about a year now and I think it’s time for me to update from Sierra to High Sierra. (Main because I have been experiencing Ethernet LAN issues and I’m hoping the update can fix some things). And it also seems that performance for my music software is greatly increased on Hogg Sierra 10.13.6.
Anyways, I’ve just got a couple things that worry me.
-
I currently have a dual boot Mac Sierra and Windows 10 upon boot. If I go ahead with Tonymacx86 guide for “updating directly to MacOS high Sierra”, will it not affect anything about how I have my dual boot setup?
-
As far as backing up files, I have 2 SSDs, one for Mac OS and one for Windows and then I have two HDDs formatted for both Mac and Windows to access, no OS just extra storage. During the update should I disconnect all drives except for my Mac SSD? Or will it be fine to leave them all connected.
-
Also, I would likely backup all my Mac SSD files onto one of the hard drives but is there any potential that I can lose anything from my hard drives that don’t have the OS on it ? The other drives are about 5TB combined and I don’t have nearly enough backup drives for that... Is there any potential that these harddrives could have something happen during the update or am I just paranoid.

Also, last thing. APFS or HFS+? The tonymacx86 page has options for both and idk which one is best and gives the best results
Hopefully you guys can answer all three questions for me ! Thanks!
