So I have finally hit a point where I need to start my Hackintosh build because my mid-2011 iMac is starting the death throws. She is not compatible with Mojave so I can’t upgrade the OS and the graphical artifact of is getting worse, now pretty much anytime I play any sort of video.
So here is what I am looking at for my “Mac Mini” type build. - Wesena ITX4-v3 mini-it’s case (already purchased) - Samsung 860 EVO 1TB ssd drive (already purchased) - Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 2400 8GB (already purchased) - Intel Core i3 8100 - Gigabyte H370N board - Noctua L9i cpu cooler - Mini-box PicoPSU 160w power supply with brick - 27” Monitor (something cheapish just want a good clean, crisp screen but doesn’t have to be Uber in anyway. Was looking at the Sceptre 27” C278W-1920R on Amazon)
This will be a basic setup that will only boot Mac OS and be used for basic computing needs, internet browsing with only the very occasional photo or video editing. I don’t really game anymore, when I do that is done on my Xbox One. This will be hard wired to the router so no real need for a different WiFi card on the board.
Plan is to do a Vanilla install on the system to get everything fresh and new. The one problem that I have so far is that my system won’t even let me download Mojave for the Vanilla build so I will need to install High Sierra and then upgrade to Mojave.
Is there anything that I am forgetting?
