Building a video editing computer with my daughter

Hi

Been reading this group for a couple of months and doing my research. Looking to build a Final Cut Pro editing system. The actual build part of the computer will also be a fun learning experience for my daughter (and me).

Here are the parts I’ve picked so far:

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8 GHz 6-Core Processor ($219.89 @ B&H)

Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($179.99 @ Newegg)

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($65.99 @ Corsair)

Storage: ADATA - XPG SX850 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($44.00 @ Amazon)

Case: NZXT - H500 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($64.99 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($42.98 @ Newegg)

I know the motherboard basically decides what guide to use. Have I picked the right one for my needs? I read some people run into issues with USB ports. I will need to run video off a USB external.

I know I will need a WiFi/Bluetooth card - will need the Magic Mouse to work. And will install Mojave.

Anything else I need to factor in or a different build recommendation?

Any suggestions for a guide on the install? I see many on this Reddit like the vanilla install.

Thanks for any help! I promise to pay it forward after my build is done.
