Check out this video comparing the LTE speeds of the iPhone XS to the iPhone XS Max and iPhone X.
The tests were performed using iOS 12.0 and the SpeedTest.net app. The phones were placed in the exact same position and the tests were run sequentially using the same SIM card and same test server. Of course, network conditions can vary; however, we obtained similar results in multiple rounds of testing.
In this test, the iPhone X achieved an average download speed of 71.7 Mbps, much slower than the iPhone XS at 161 Mbps and the iPhone XS Max at 166 Mbps. At this location, our fastest iPhone X test came in at 116 Mbps and our slowest iPhone XS test came in at 147 Mbps.
