Hey everyone, so I am a first time hackintosher (and first time using Mac os), and I put macOS High Sierra on my desktop (specs: Intel core i5-6500, gigabyte H170N-wifi, Nvidia GTX 960, 16gb DDR4), and I've run into a lot of lag issues in HS. I used the default config from multibeast, registering my computer as an iMac 14,1. But I have some issues. First is that macOS seems to report my CPU as a 2 core, 4 thread i5, even through it is a quad core. I did some research and I believe that is likely due to my system definition. There is an iMac that uses my CPU (model 17,1) and I tried to change it with clover configuator, but that just crashed my system so I had to change back. So here are my questions: 1. In order to change my system definition, do I likely have to reinstall macOS from scratch? 2. Would changing my system definition to the iMac closest to my desktop hardware yield any actual benefits? (I.e. could this be the reason I have a ton of lag?)
Thanks got anyone who is able to help!
