Do I even need NvidiaGraphicsFixup?

I’m reading in many places that NvidiaGraphicsFixup is a must have when you use a nvidia gpu, as it solves slugginess of the UI. I’m rocking a 980Ti, on a GA-Z97 motherboard, 10.13.4, everything up to date (kexts, clover, nvidia drivers on v.106) Everything on my hack is fully functional but for a reason, when I tested adding the kext in my clover, it resulted in a KP. (Yup I have Lilu too) So, do I need it, and is there a reason why it KP’s?
