Beginner questions

Hi there,

I guess you get many of these posts, but I am a Mac owner looking to get into this Hackingtosh situation. I am a music producer/engineer, and have long decided that my next computer won’t be mac because I can’t give 5000 and not have any upgradability, I just can’t afford it.

So I was easing myself into the though of getting a PC, and then I found about hackingtosh and I am really confused with my options. I watched youtube videos, articles and posts here, and i can’t really decide if it’s worth it. All the top posts in this sub are [success], and that seems a little worrying to me.

I just have a basic question for now;

If I build a pc (around 2000$) with the parts I need for a hackingtosh, and then later on it doesn’t work that well or is too much of a hassle to fix every bug, would I be able to just switch and start using windows?

Would the 2000$ that I’ll be spending give me the same value of items as if I was building a windows machine with the same budget?

Just a last question,what are some trustworthy sites/forums to get my feet in the water? There’s too many outdated/vague posts out there.
