Just a screenshot of how she handles running one of my demos (excuse the messy arrange page, I don't keep it tidy while I'm writing).
EXTRA INFO: Palit Fanless 1050ti 4GB, 250GB NVME drive, 3TB HDD, Wifi working (although weak, I use the ethernet instead). Messages / icloud working.
Honestly, assuming nothing unexpected happens, it was a great decision to take a (quite expensive) risk on building my first hackintosh. I simply can't afford a top of the line mac, and I don't need it to look fancy or anything. I just need a powerful, quiet machine. I've done 2 feature film soundtracks in the past year and my iMac just wasn't cutting it at all.
Big shoutout to those who tried to help me with my USB problems (which was actually a GFX card problem in the end). If I hadn't made that blunder, it would have been an absolute breeze getting this running. Thanks to reddit, insanelymac (namely user Maldon), Discord, and Hackintosher (who's build i followed, brilliant resource and very helpful guy).
Even bigger shoutout to Tonymac for banning me on my first post (even though their rules page says nothing about referencing external guides). Absolute mugs, really brings me back to the days of being on elitist programmer forums.
I thought I'd post this as I couldn't find a huge amount of people online who'd made a music Hackintosh, and in High Sierra too. My Focusrite 18i20v2 seems to handle everything just fine - No pops or clicks since sorting out my USB problem. Its a real joy to use and again I want to thank the community for helping me!
P.s I might try and overclock it further to 5ghz one day, but the stock OC in the bios got it to 4.3 and I'll leave it there for now, I never get CPU dropouts really, so I won't tempt fate there yet!
