Improving hackintosh performance/graphical lag

So after spending a solid 12 hours or so over the weekend I've finally managed to install High Sierra 10.13.3 on my second ssd on my laptop. Everything is working pretty well, except there appears to be a constant slight graphical lag on the system. For example, dragging windows around quickly or entering fullscreen on a video generates quite a bit of lag. I'm brand new to the hackintosh world, so I was wondering if anyone had tips on how I can improve the performance.

My system has an nvidia gtx 1070, and I tried following intructions I found, and I installed the web drivers and set up my Clover settings with nvdra_drv on, and inject intel off. When I go to the about mac page, it lists the nvidia gtx 1070 as the graphics chip, but I have a suspicion that it might not be working correctly.

Other specs: Motherboard MS-1785 Intel i7-6820HQ 16gb ram

Please let me know if you know of any solutions!
