High Sierra runs fine on HDD but randomly freezes on SSD

Hi, I've installed High Sierra on my pc, which works great on a 500GB 5400rpm 2.5" HDD. I bought a SSD to get more performance, but for some reason, after I do a fresh install on the SSD, I get random freezes. Sometimes they last for about 5 seconds, with me able to move the mouse but getting the beachball. Other times it completely locks up my pc and I have to restart.

My system:

  • MB: Asus P5K
  • CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550
  • GPU: 8800GTS
  • RAM: 8GB 800MHz
  • HDD: 500GB HDD (works fine) / 120GB Sandisk SSD Plus (causes random crashes).

I install High Sierra using Unibeast and install Clover legacy loader using Multibeast. It's weird how the system become so unstable when the only thing I've changed is moving from HDD to SSD. I've tried turning TRIM off, but no difference. Also tried a different SSD with the same results.

Any help massively appreciated, thanks :)
