I have been building hackintosh computers as a hobby since 10.4.4 was leaked. I did this to learn the new OS, and also to see how much hardware I could possibly run it on.
In the process, I learned a heck of a lot about Apple and Mac OS X, and I believe from memory, I have never failed to get macOS running on any hardware, including AMD CPU's.
The current state-of-affairs with Hackintosh is easy to see in this subreddit:
"Please help me build a hackintosh to do professional work on"
Apple make up for not selling their operating system due to hardware sales, and they make up in a big way. When you don't pay for the hardware OR the operating system, you are hurting Apple.
I have purchased four real Mac's (one Mac Pro, and three iMac's) in that time, I still have the late-2013 iMac.
This subreddit has become a sad joke, which revolves around building a Mac Pro replacement for a small fraction of Apple's asking price. Almost all these posts are about skank-ass skanks wanting something for nothing. They are not even intelligent enough to use Google and find answers for themselves.
This is it for me... this is where I draw a line and say "no more". I won't help people build super-cheap Final Cut and Logic Pro machines anymore... I will watch the Discord channel occasionally with interest, but even that is reeking of skank-ass cheap-ass hoes looking for a cheap fix.
I hope those who know what they are doing, all of you out there, don't sell out and help know-nothing n00bs. If we don't start buying Apple desktop hardware, Apple are going to stop making it... and we'll all be stuck with freaking iPads !!!
Sorry for the rant. You might catch me by DM or on other subreddits. Have a great day.
