Need help making the bootable drive

So to explain where I am right now, I have all of the files I need downloaded, including clover. I had a friend email me the download of osx, he sent me one as a .dmg and the other as a RAW file. I dont have access to a mac to create the drive so I am using a osx VM. I was reading some guides on making the bootable drive however the terminal code given to create the installer drive does not work. I have tried moving the .dmg around in the applications directory as well as the downloads to no avail. I have already formatted the usb drive and it is plugged in to the computer.

This is the terminal code I was using:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Installer --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction

I tried changing the "sierra.app" to "Sierra.dmg" in the code however it still did not work. I also tried doing this with the file in the applications folder and it still did not work. The error I am getting is "ia: command not found"

Have been at this for a few hours and I am sure that it is some simple error but for the life of me I cannot figure this out. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
