Can't boot macOS High Sierra install USB on ASUS Z270i

Hey guys,

I'm trying to setup a new Hackintosh with an ASUS Z270i Gaming motherboard. I've noticed others have had success with this board, but I cannot get my macOS High Sierra USB to boot.

I created the USB using Unibeast with a GPT partition as recommended by tonymacx86. (I initially tried to create it without the partition, but I got an error because it couldn't copy APFS files.) The USB was created successfully, and I changed my motherboard settings to match those other Z270i users have used (however, I do not seem to have the option to enable XHCI hand-off for some reason).

When I attempt to boot from the USB from within BIOS settings, it takes me back to the BIOS settings in an instant. It's like it doesn't even try to boot it. The screen goes black for less than a second, then I'm back in the BIOS. When I attempt to boot the USB after pressing F8 at startup, I get an "operating system couldn't be found error" as if it's trying to boot Windows.

Can anyone help? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
