Apple Unlikely to Launch New iPhone SE in 2Q18 [Report]



KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes it's unlikely that Apple will have the development resources to launch a new iPhone SE in 2Q18 as rumored.

DigiTimes analyst Luke Lin recently reported that Apple was planning to unveil a new iPhone SE with wireless charging in May or June; however, Kuo doesn't think Apple has enough resources available. TrendForce also predicted a second generation iPhone SE for launch this year.

The announcement of three new iPhone models in the same quarter in the second half of 2017 was the first time Apple made such a major endeavor, and we believe the delay of iPhone X, which had the most complicated design yet, shows that Apple doesn't have enough resources available for development.
