Selecting my startup disk just causes instant reboot. I don't get to the Clover menu.

I am trying to update to High Sierra from El Capitan.

  • I updated clover.
  • I copied Copy FakeSMC.kext to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/
  • I had remaining El Capitan updates, so I updated those through the App Store. After restarting, I got stuck in a BIOS boot loop, and the BIOS boot device kept duplicating.
  • Somehow I got past the boot loop on one instance when selecting the top duplicate boot option. I changed my model identification in Multibeast from MacPro 3,1 to iMac 17,1 so that the App Store would let me download the installer.
  • I fixed the BIOS duplication issue by changing \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI to \EFI\LAUNCHER\BOOTX64.efi , but now I can't boot to OSX at all.

Selecting my El Capitan SSD in the boot device selection menu just causes the system to instantly reboot. I don't even get to the Clover menu screen.

I have a dual boot setup. Booting to windows 10 from the BIOS works fine.

How do I get past the instant reboot and fix this?
